Città delle 200.000 palme, incanta il turista al primo sguardo, il piccolo torrente che scorre intorno la città, è una cartkolina colorata, ha intorno giardini e palme ed è contornato da una passeggiata a lato tutta dipinta da murales, per terra, che colorano questo rigagnolo di acqua.
Il castello stile arabo che ci accoglie dopo il ponte è di una bellezza lucente, brilla sotto il sole di questo bianco , al suo interno nei sotterranei, vi sono gli scavi con rovine romane, contornato da uno dei parchi più belli che io abbia mai visto.La cattedrale con la sua cupola blu cobalto al suo interno ci lascia un senso di pace e tranquillità, un altare dorato, una volta dorata e poi proprio un senso di pace.
Il pezzo forte di questa città è il palmeto e nursery dove si lasciano crescere allo stato selvaggio tutte le migliaia e migliaia di palme che in ogni via, in ogni casa, rendono unico questo paese.
I suoi vicoletti con bar piccoli e accoglienti, le sue piccole piazzette con panchine tutte decorate con ceramiche gialle e blu, rendono un privilegio passeggiare per questa città. Non è sul mare ma leggermente all'interno, posizione meravigliosa per questi alberi, che risentono.del clima mediterraneo ma con i venti mitigati dalla lontananza di qualche km dal mare, rendono unica Elche anche per viverci.
ELCHE: MAGIC CITY
In Costa Blanca near the Alicante airport there’s a city that’s unknown for the majority of people called Elche, “Elx” in local dialect.
“The 200.000 palms city” charms the tourist at first sight, the small creek that flows around the city is a coloured postcard: it’s surrounded by gardens & palms and has a sidewalk painted with murals on the ground that colours this water trickle.
The arab style castle that welcomes us immediatly after the bridge shines of beauty with its white coloration under the sun, inside the basement there are excavations with Roman ruins, surrounded by one of the most beautiful parks I’ve ever seen.
The cathedral with its cobalt blue dome inside leaves us a sense of peace and serenity, a golden altar, a golden vault and then just a sense of peace.
The highlight of this city is the palm grove and nursery where the thousands and thousands of palms are left to grow wild; in every street and in every house, this makes this city unique.
Its narrow streets with small & cozy bars, its small squares with benches decorated with yellow & blue pottery make it a privilege to walk in this city.
Not on the sea but slightly in the inside, perfect location for this trees that are affected by the Mediterranean Climate but with the winds mitigated by a few kilometers distance from the sea, make Elche a unique and perfect city also to live in.
